Black Eyeliners

So I don't have too much time and I didn't know too much what to write about so I looked to my makeup collection for inspiration. I'm just gonna give you a reaaaaally speedy run-down of my black eyeliners. Sorry, not too original or incredibly interesting but if you're in the market it may be useful.

Here are my four black liners (I have a liquid one but I don't use it, the felt-tip is a bit messed up.)
Ugh, crappy lighting. I'm also sorry the last swatch is smudged. Sorry for the crappy nature of this post.

The first one (my new fave) is the POPBeauty Cat Eyes Eyeliner in No. 1 Black Onyx. Sorry, I just can't stop talking about it! It's great, super easy to use, fun tool for cat eyes! If you're looking for a true black, however, this one would not be my top recommendation! It's a pretty smokey greyish bluish black (loveee). If you asked me what color it was, though, I would just say black.

Price point: $16
Where to buy: Not really sure, got mine at Urban Outfitters, you can find it here.

The second swatch is the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eyeliner Pencil in Zero. This is soooo ridiculously creamy and awesome. It's a liiiiiiitttttllllleee hard to sharpen, but this is almost my ideal liner!

Price point: $17
Where to buy: Sephora, www.urbandecay.com

The third swatch looks very very very similar to Zero but is actually a LOT cheaper. This is the wet n' wild Color Icon Brow and Eyeliner in Black. It's only a dollar, so that's a MAJOR plus. Put the formula is a tiny bit waxy so the pencil drags a bit meaning you may have to go over it a bit and in the long run it can cause wrinkles :(. But so can smiling, right? It's waxy texture makes it good for tightlining, though! For those of you who don't know what tightlining is, it's applying eyeliner to the skin below your lashes rather than above. It is not long lasting either, though...the color will run down your eyes a little. Despite this down-sides, you may as well give it a try, right?

Price point: $0.99
Where to buy: CVS, Walgreens, etc.

The last swatch is definitely the deepest, blackest black. It's MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack. It's a gel liner from MAC that is ridiculously creamy. If you buy this, make sure it has minimal exposure to the air. It will dry very quickly, so keep the cap on! I love mine but haven't quite mastered the technique so don't use it on a daily basis.

Price point: $15
Where to buy: MAC Stores and Counters

If you're looking for a drugstore liner that is as creamy as 24/7 I would check put the Milani Liquif-eye Eyeliners. I've heard they're great and just around $6.50! I may get one one of these days but as you can see, for now I'm happy with my selection. I may get the silver one!

Yeah. Other than that I have a blue and brown liner... A white one... A cream one. Maybe those will be for tomorrow.

Hehe...

So I just talked to my friend and she asked me to pick her up a stila palette. I got her the floral chic one because it was the cleanest...and her name is Flora. Anyways...while I was at Urban Outfitters, I noticed the POPBeauty Cat Eyes eyeliner that I wanted (retails for $16), had a $3.50 tag on it! I obviously got it! I think the sticker was from a NYX eyeliner, so now I feel sorta guilty. Their mistake, right? Anywho...it's very nice. It has tiny, tasteful flecks of shimmer and a beautiful, creamy, smoky, blendable look and feel. This color is No. 1 Black Onyx.

The first line is drawn with the tip of the rectangle, the second two the whole surface area of the rectangle, and the fourth one I used the rectangle horizontally.

Meow. Haaa- thanks for the cute idea Marin from your Physician's Formula post.

Also, I went to CVS for kicks and decided as a pick-me-up to grab one of those wet n wild $1.99 glosses. I bought the brightest pink, without sparkles or glitter. I just wanted shiny lips, and these are called mega slicks (not a very good name...ha.) I got home and wanted to try it on. I was happy because it smelled deliciously sugary and was very very bright in the tube. When I pulled the doe-footed applicator out of the tube completely I was extremely disappointed. Zero pigment. I think had I bought the clear gloss or wanted a clear gloss I would've been happy but this was really quite lame. *RAWRR-MEWANTLIPGLASS* Sorry.

One thing that cracked me up is a lot of French designer brands have the names of the products in French and English on American products and cheap brands imitate them to seem classier or pricier. The name of this gloss is "Cotton Candy". Not classy. The funny part is that in French Cotton Candy is called "Barbe à Papa" (Daddy's Beard). Classy. :P By the way, I tried to take a picture of the product on my lips but I'm having lighting issues. I'll work on it.

It looks even brighter than that (in the tube) in real life!

*sigh*

I totally looooove the eyeliner though!

Liquid Eyeliners

Ok- the other day I bought a Wet n' Wild eye-defining felt-tip liner for $3.99 at CVS. I think I had an ExtraBuck too...don't you love them? I loved it. I practiced, I learned wings, I used it everyday...for a week. The tip got dirty because of use on sparkly eyes and the point got blunt and difficult to draw with. As an effort to save the $4 product I cut the tip at an angle to try and make it sharper...to no avail. It kind of failed and now lines are streaky and uneven. That's why today I'm going to Urban Outfitters to purchase an Eyeko Grafitti Liquid Liner! They have it in black, purple, blue, and green (?), and I know I'm boring, but I'll be buying the black one. Eyeko is a British cosmetics company with absolutely adorable makeup. They have mascara that is stored in a tube that squeezes and lipgloss with Big Ben and the Union Jack! <3 (mascara= $12, gloss=$10, liner=$8). Can't wait. I'll post a comparison of it and my WnW later.
